biographies
Jackson
Wheeler was born and raised in Andrews, NC
in the mountains of western North Carolina. He attended
the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and graduate
school in California where he has lived since 1975.
He is the author of two collections: Swimming Past Iceland
(Mille Grazie Press, 1993) and A Near Country: Poems
of Loss (Solo Press, 1999) with Glenna Luschei, and
David Oliveira. He co-edited SOLO: A Journal of Poetry
for 10 years and has been published in numerous literary
journals..
franEyE
was a singular character affectionately called the Bearded
Witch of Ocean Park. She had lived in the Ocean Park
neighborhood of Santa Monica for decades.FrancEyE was
published in many poetry journals and gathered in the
collections "Snaggletooth in Ocean Park" (Sacred
Beverage Press, 1996), "Amber Spider" (Pearl,
2004), "Grandma Stories" (Conflux Press, 2008)
and “Call” (Rose of Sharon Press, 2008).

Suzanne
Lummis is editor of the extremely eclectic
literary web magazine, speechlessthemagazine.org, a
founding member of the language-driven, humorous, experimental
performance troupe, Nearly Fatal Women, founding director
of the arts organization The Los Angeles Poetry Festival,
which produced eight city-wide festivals between 1989
- 2003, and now produces individual events, and literary
coordinator for Northeast LA's. Poetry in the Windows
contest, a project of The Arroyo Arts Collective. Her
poems have appeared in major literary magazines in the
U.S. and U.K., including The Antioch Review, The Hudson
Review, Pool, and Agenda. Lummis' collection of poetry
In Danger was published by Heyday Books as part of the
California Poetry Series. Her new completed manuscript
is called Open 24 Hours.
Friday
Lubina has been published in ARTLIFE Limited
Editions, Caffeine and Dance of the Iguana. Her poetry
has also guest-appeared in Goodbye Gianna, Goodbye,
a book of poetry by Yiu Hung Li. Friday has sold out
of her first chapbook of poetry, Tears and Snot Travel
Hand in Hand and is painstakingly working toward her
second.
Phil
Taggart's publishing credits include: Solo
Café’s “8 Central Coast Poets Look
at The World”, Brick” & “Bear
Flag Republic, Prose Poems & Poetics.” Phil’s
book of poems, Opium Wars, was published by Mille Grazie
Press.
Marsha
de la O’s first book of poetry, Black
Hope, won the New Issues Press Poetry Prize and a Small
Press Editor’s Choice Award. She won the dA Poetry
Award. She has published in journals such as Barrow
Street, Passages North, Solo, and Third Coast.
Dorothea Grossman lives and writes in
Los Angeles, California, and has a poetry CD with trombone
improvisations by Michael Vlatkovich, Call and Response
